Oviedo
From wilderness trails to airboat rides, Oviedo’s filled with wild adventures.
While much of Oviedo’s a relaxed, friendly slice of old Florida, there’s plenty here to get your heart racing. Visit Black Hammock Adventures for an airboat tour of Lake Jessup, home to the highest population of alligators of any lake in North America. On this exhilarating ride, you’ll see some of Florida’s most unique wildlife. Or visit The Econ River Wilderness Area to explore
three miles of trails along the Econlockhatchee River, a natural habitat for the golden mouse and great horned owl. You can also pick up the Cross Seminole Trail in downtown Oviedo, which displays even more of the area’s natural beauty. Continue your old Florida experience by staying at the Kings Manor Bed and Breakfast, a charming 1884 Victorian farmhouse. For more of this town’s unique culture, don’t miss the Artistic Hand Art Gallery in downtown Oviedo. A great time to visit is during the “Great Day in the Country” event with over 300 booths featuring handmade arts and crafts, entertainment and good food, all complimented by perfect November weather.
