You will see natural vegetation and marsh lands as you make your way on the boardwalk to where "The Senator" once stood. Once one of the largest trees in the U.S. before its fire induced collapse in January 2012, the 3,500 year old Bald Cypress remains the park's main attraction. Though now standing at a mere 25 feet, The Senator was previously recognized as Florida's "Big Tree". The Senator's sister tree, Lady Liberty, is now the park's largest.  Facilities include a boardwalk, picnic tables, and restrooms.
